Top December 2014 Holiday Events In Montreal

December 02, 2014

Well it’s official; we’re in holiday season! Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah…whatever you’re celebrating, the city of Montreal has lots to offer this holiday season. If you’re on an extended stay in Montreal, lodged in a downtown Montreal hotel or just making a quick visit, there are plenty of things to check out during your free time. If you’re here to visit family, why not head out together for some memorable activities? When it’s time to call it a day, head back home or even better, what about booking yourself an affordable Montreal hotel suite instead of staying at your in-laws place this holiday season? Nothing like having your own place to relax in or take a much needed break!

TELUS’ Fire On Ice Show

Fireworks aren’t just for the summer! For a quick boost out of any winter blues, check out this amazing display of pyrotechnics. Held over four Saturday evenings in December 2014, expect to see the night sky ablaze with colour. Takes place in the Old Port with the first show on December 13th at 8 PM. If you’ve booked a hotel suite downtown Montreal, you can walk down to the port to take in the show, or even watch from your hotel suite window, if you’re on the right side!

Skate Nights...Or Days!

Yep. Skating is here! Depending on the weather in some locations (not all rinks are refrigerated), you can start to lace up your skates and join in on some local hockey action, or just take a cruise with your pals. For those of you staying in hotels downtown Montreal, there are a few rinks nearby. One indoor rink where you can rent skates is located at the Atrium Le 1000 de la Gauchetiere. Or, if you’re looking for an outdoor experience, walk or bus down to the Bonsecours Basin rink, where you can also rent a pair of skates. They also have fun music themed nights starting at 7pm.
