A little summer fun for the little ones!

Looking for something geared to your younger family members? Summer in Montreal will not disappoint. From parks to special events, there are more activities going on than we could possibly list! One of the best ways to find activities for kids in Montreal is to check out the websites or bulletin boards for your local park. Another great place is your community centre, who will quickly point you to multiple options! To keep things simple, we’ve put together a few child-friendly ideas that caught our eye happening this summer:

Jazz Festival

On top of the numerous and superb jazz shows planned, there are many children’s activities going on throughout the Montreal Jazz festival. From the Musical Park to La Petite ecole du’ll find lots of fun things for your kids to do during this popular Montreal event.

Week-ends du monde

Think “tour the world for free.” Sounds good to me! This event gives Montrealers from all backgrounds the chance to show off their talents, culture and traditions through a variety of music, dance, and culinary presentations. Presented by Loto-Quebec, this event takes place over two weekends: July 5-6 and July 12-13, 2014. There will be four main stages that you can wander past, as well as many satellite stages featuring all-day performances. There are also many kiosks, workshops, markets and food. Lots of fun! Takes place in the Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Fête des enfants Montreal

 With the aim of fostering development and growth of kids 12 and under, the “Fête des enfants” festival provides a wide range of programming on July 9th and 10th this summer. From sports, educational, cultural and awareness-building activities, this is a great option when you’re looking for something to do with your younger ones this summer. Located in the Parc Jean-Drapeau the “Fête des enfants” includes:

  • Inflatable games
  • Diverse range of shows
  • Creative and imaginative workshops
  • A taste of various trades
  • Awareness building activities and presentations
  • Plus much more!

Jack and the Magic Beanstalk

Taking place in various Montreal parks, your children will love this performance! Running from July 2 to August 24, 2014 and performed by the Caravan Theatre, the whole family is sure to enjoy this adaptation of the Jack and the Beanstalk story. Come experience the adventure!
