Lachine Bonneville Half Marathon

Boasting one of the most beautiful courses along Rene Levesque Park and Lake St. Louis, this half marathon has a race for all levels of runners. From the 21km, 10km, 5km, 2km and 1km; you can choose a race that suites your speed. If you’re here with your family, you can all enter this race, as it is suited to competitive runners as well as non-competitive. All proceeds from the race go towards finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Race day was on August 24, 2014.

Marathon et Demi-marathon Oasis Rock ‘n’ Roll de Montréal

The 24th edition of this popular marathon runs on September 28th, 2014. As the largest series of its kind in the world, the Rock’n’Roll Running series has over 500,000 runners taking part worldwide. Although most of the Montreal races have filled up, there were a few spaces left in several of the races. If you’ve missed out on running in this one, go as a spectator…there will be all kinds of fun going on! The whole idea of this marathon is making running fun for everyone, no matter what your level.

CIBC Run for the Cure in Montréal

Coming up later this fall, on Sunday October 5th, the CIBC Run for the Cure helps raise awareness and money for breast cancer. Every year over ten thousand runners take part in this race at Parc Maisonneuve in either the 1km or 5km race. A great event for runners of all ages, if you are going to be here in October, sign up now through the website.

Apocalypse 5k

Here’s a fun twist on running! How about a night race? Apocalypse is a 5km race that starts at 6:30 on Saturday October 25th, 2014. As a Halloween-season race, runners are encouraged to wear costumes. The theme for this year’s race is “Sanatorium Zombiephobia”…should be ample inspiration for some great costumes! This race takes place on île Notre-Dame (Park Jean-Drapeau) which is very easy to access by metro using the yellow line and exiting at the Park Jean-Drapeau station.
