Ideas & Tips for Fantastic Family Traveling in Montreal

Families in the City can be fun

Cities and children can be a challenge – traveling to new cities with your children can be even more challenging! While some cities, like Montreal, are more child-friendly than others, there are a few tips that can make your travels to any city much easier.

Take your time. Certainly there are moments where you have to get moving, but taking your time when travelling with children is a must. It’s so easy to get in high gear and want to get where you’re going, or get to the next activity; but this approach is sure to grind the gears in even the best family. Slow things down to accommodate the youngest member of your family, even if it means making it back to your Montreal hotel suite for a mid-afternoon or morning nap.

Bring your own snacks. We don’t have to remind you that kids are hungry 24/7. What is worth noting is how much it can end up costing if you have to buy snacks throughout your vacation. Saving this expense alone can really add up for a family on the road. Plus, if you have a picky eater it can be difficult to find something they’ll actually eat.  Another benefit of bringing your own snacks is that you can maintain some of your eating habits from home, which is helpful for routine and growing children.

Book a Montreal hotel with a kitchenette. Just like packing along your own snacks, booking a hotel room with a kitchenette allows you to save money and eat what your family likes. Our downtown Montreal hotels have the option of kitchenettes and multi-room suites; which are great for family stays. Plus they are located right in the heart of Montreal, making it easy to head out for activities.
