A day for lovers. It has arrived! Valentines day in Montreal provides couples ample opportunity to express their feelings for each other in both romantic and not-so-romantic ways. If you’ve already spent past Valentines in the city, how about taking a lovely little road trip, or booking yourself a table out-of-town in one of the countless cozy restos just beyond your downtown hotel suite? Read on for more great ideas for this Valentines weekend.

1. Road trip time! Got the travel bug? What about a little road trip? There are many places you could go to treat yourself and your lover to some much anticipated adventure. If you’re visiting Montreal on an extended stay, rent a car for the weekend and check out one of the many nearby routes to charm your special someone:

  • Wine route (a tad early for many wineries but still a great trip for scenery)
  • Township’s Treasures (discover the quaint villages in the nearby Eastern Townships)
  • Route des Sommets (beautiful mountain scenery)

2. Get pampered at the spa. After your road trip how about some relaxation? There are plenty of spas to try right in Montreal, with many of the best very close to your downtown Montreal hotel suite. Book in advance and remember, Valentines Day spaces will fill up fast!

3. Take in a show. There are always plenty of shows to check out any given weekend in Montreal. We’ve put together a quick list of romance-inspired shows to give you a few ideas for a great Valentines surprise.

  • Le Balcon, Dinner and a show. February 13th and 14th 2015. A tribute to Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, Frank Sinatra, Barry White, Al Green, Luther Vandross and many more!   • Dorothee Berryman. Dinner and a show. Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grillade on the night of February 14th. If you or your date love jazz don’t miss out on this one, Dorothee has an amazing talent for connecting with her audiences. Sure to be a hit!

4. Visit one of Montreal’s great restos. Maybe hitting the spa or a soulful show isn’t you’re thing. No problem! What about heading out to one of Montreal’s great restos for an afternoon or evening date? Watch for great specials throughout the weekend. Need a quick pick close by to your hotel downtown Montreal?
