For all you sports fans out there, Montreal has lots to offer! Whether you watch your favorite sport live or head to one of our exciting local sports bars for a few beers with your friends, there’s plenty of sports action here this summer. If watching isn’t your favorite way to enjoy sports, there are plenty of opportunities to play sports in Montreal as well. Even if you’re just visiting! Read on to find out more:

FIFA World Cup Soccer

Now that hockey is over, soccer takes center stage; and after the Habs, nothing brings out as much patriotism and fervor as World Cup Soccer! You’ll see flags flying, jerseys and hats everywhere as the city’s shops, restaurants and people all root for their favorite teams all through the World Cup. One of the best ways to take in the World Cup games is at your local sports bar. With games being broadcasted each week until the final game on July 13th, you’ll find lots of soccer excitement to take in.

PGA Tour–Canadian Open

The 2014 RBC Canadian Open will again take place at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. Considered to be a “Best in Class” PGA tour event; if you’re a golf fan, don’t miss out on this! As the only PGA tour in Canada, the RBC Canadian Open is a great chance for Canadians to get in on some high-level golf. Anticipating over 100,000 spectators, 1,700 or more volunteers and 156 of the world’s top golfers; you can count on this event delivering nothing but the best in golf. It will also be broadcasted on TV, so if you can’t get tickets, be sure to head to your local pub for a few rounds.

2014 Fina World Masters Championships

If water sports are your thing, don’t miss the 2014 Fina World Masters being held right here in Montreal. From July 27 to August 10, this is the Federation’s largest event, held every two years. Swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming events will all feature some of the world’s best adult competitors. This is a great opportunity to see some of the best athletes in action.

CFL Montreal Alouettes Action
